Surah At Takwir

Surah At-Takwir, which is also called “The Enclosing” or “The Wrapping”, is the 81st chapter of Quran. It is a short Surah containing only 29 verses but it leaves much impact. It was revealed in Makkah and describes an important event, the Day of Judgment.

Think about that point in the future when everything you know completely changes. The sun that illuminates our path and provides heat will become dark and lose its face value once again. Stars would no longer sparkle during night-time. Even though they seem immovable, even colossal mountains are scattered here and there as if by a wind. This is what this sura depicts.
